Fourth of July

Betsey Cox community members join the rest of our country in celebrating the anniversary of our country’s independence. The day begins with a colored coordinated American breakfast-pancakes with strawberries and blueberries and whipped cream. Old-fashioned and newly imagined relay races occupy the morning. Games conclude with our annual pie-eating contest….chocolate pies! A huge buffet BBQ lunch follows, topped off by a large American-flag cake. Dinner is simple followed by an special evening program as dusk settles for our firework show! July 4th is well celebrated!

Afternoon activities include a counselor hunt and a free swim, with dinner in costume, all costumes made by the girls in our crafts cabin. The day concludes with fireworks over the pond accompanied by the singing of favorite camp songs. It’s a wonderful day!
