Red Cross Swimming

Everybody should learn to swim, especially if they can take lessons in a beautiful camp pond like our own Burr Pond!  Our certified Red Cross Water Safety Instructors and Lifeguards instruct Red Cross swimming levels. Classes are kept small. We encourage girls to participate in three swimming lessons per week unless parents excuse them from this expectation. Very few girls object to time in our waters! Free swim happens every afternoon.

The Waterfront at Camp Betsey Cox is where I fell in love with swimming. When I was 9 I went to all my lessons and every free swim because the pond was always so fun to go to. In recent years, through camp, I have become a trained lifeguard and started teaching campers to swim. After working at the waterfront, seeing the girls improve over the summer is incredible.
